Bethesda Community Food Pantry

Bethesda Community Food Pantry (BCFP) has been providing supplemental food to those in need since 1983. We are supported entirely by donations and contributions of volunteers and partner organizations in the Ames and Story County Communities. We are also a proud partner of the Food Bank of Iowa.

“The U.S. Department of Agriculture prohibits discrimination against its customers, employees and applicants for employment on the bases of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Department.”

We give supplemental food to all who ask and no one is turned away. In addition to canned and packaged food, we also offer fresh produce in harvesting months, often frozen meat, bread and other bakery items, along with milk vouchers to each family. We also have special holiday grocery gift cards for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We make sure the pantry continues to serve those in need by procuring, hauling, stocking, and distributing the food.
