Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance Inc.

Who We Are

We are a small non-profit agency committed to helping people who live in Story County.  Our clients struggle to pay for the basic needs of food, housing, utilities, and transportation.  Their struggles may stem from chronic poverty, struggles with mental health matters, disability, age, or unexpected medical or financial events.

The majority of our funds come from local individuals, local faith communities, and civic organizations.  We also receive municipal and county monies through annual and periodic grants.

What We Do

We are a centralized resource providing cooperative emergency assistance to Story County residents for rent, utilities, food, gasoline, and CyRide bus tickets.  Our assistance is offered in a non-judgmental atmosphere of dignity, comfort and encouragement. We also strive to raise the awareness of poverty in the Story County community through advocacy and education.
