Who We Are
The Iowa Arboretum, located on 170 acres in the heart of Boone County, is home to more than 6,000 accessioned plants. Trees, shrubs, and flowering plants can be found along nicely landscaped paths. The Arboretum is utilized by schools, universities, and the community as a resource for learning about plants that can be grown in Boone County and the state of Iowa. Educational classes, symposia, and workshops are offered throughout the year. Special events are also held during the year to include plant sales, soup suppers, pancake/waffle breakfasts, art programs, and holiday-related events. Programs and tours are also offered to school groups. The Arboretum is also rented for weddings and meetings.
In 2024, the Arboretum opened Treehouse Village.
