Central Iowa Project Linus

The Project Linus mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, created by volunteer "blanketeers."

It is also our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Ames Vacuum and Sewing is one of our regular drop off locations. Volunteers can drop off their donations during business hours (9-5 weekdays and 9-3 saturdays) at 214 Main Street, Ames.

Central Iowa Project Linus collects new, handmade blankets from volunteers and delivers the blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need in our community. Each blanket is presented as a gift to the child intended to show them that our community cares during difficult times.
