Who We Are

The Center for Creative Justice (CCJ) is a community-based, non-profit agency that has provided adult probation services in Story County since 1974.  Our mission is to rehabilitate offenders, reduce victimization, increase public safety, and contribute to improving our community.

What We Do

The Center for Creative Justice (CCJ) provides adult probation services. provide community supervision to individuals sentenced to adult probation by the courts.  CCJ's staff utilizes individualized one-on-one meetings to address the needs of the client, while recognizing that all people, including those who are justice-involved, deserve to be treated with mutual respect and dignity.  We offer support, guidance, and supervision to clients so these individuals are able to remain active, productive members of our community.  We work with many local agencies to identify needed services and share resources with the population we serve.  Our clients are your neighbors, employees, co-workers, friends, and possibly members of your family. CCJ helps individuals get their life back on track through rehabilitation, which reduces crime in our community, decreases victimization, and lessens the burden on law enforcement, jails, and the courts.  Clients are held accountable and must adhere to the rules and conditions of their probation.  Programming completed during supervision may include:

• Substance Abuse Evaluation and Treatment
• Mental Health Evaluation and Treatment
• Anger Management
• Iowa Domestic Abuse Program
• Restitution Planning and Payment
• Community Service Completion
• Drinking Drivers Program

Without the services provided by CCJ, clients would simply receive a fine and/or a jail sentence with little to no rehabilitative effort and no supervision.
