Ames Evening Lions Club

Lions is the World's largest non-governmental humanitarian service organization with 1.4 million members in over 200 countries and geographic areas, and the only one recognized by the United Nations.

Lions started out focusing only on vision issues once Helen Keller challenged Lions to be the "knights of the blind" in 1925. Since turning 100 years old in 2017, Lions has widened its scope of what we do to include any need the local community has, but giving clubs guidance areas of service to focus on to help them with ideas; those areas of focus are youth, environment, diabetes, vision, and childhood cancer.
